Mukta Balikashram, established in Titwala in 2005, is a safe, nurturing, and empowering home for destitute and vulnerable girls. For nearly two decades, the Balikashram has been dedicated to transforming the lives of children who come from challenging backgrounds by providing them with love, stability, and opportunities to grow.

Since its inception, Mukta Balikashram has supported and raised over 350 girls, guiding them to become confident, independent, and capable individuals.

Our approach is rooted in holistic development, ensuring that each girl receives:

  • Quality and professional education, including support for higher studies in fields such as nursing, engineering, teaching, commerce, and vocational trades.
  • Career guidance and job placement support, helping girls secure employment in reputable organisations, industries, hospitals, and service sectors.
  • Skill development programmes covering computer literacy, spoken English, financial literacy, tailoring, and other vocational courses.
  • Health and nutritional care through regular check-ups, counselling sessions, and a focus on physical and emotional well-being.
  • Life skills training to help girls make confident decisions, communicate effectively, and manage responsibilities in daily life.
  • Emotional and psychological support to help them overcome trauma, build resilience, and develop healthy self-esteem.
  • Exposure to sports, cultural activities, and creative arts, ensuring well-rounded personality development.

As a result of continuous guidance and support, many of our girls are now financially independent, contributing to society as working professionals and responsible citizens.

Mukta Balikashram has also facilitated 20 marriages, ensuring that each girl steps into the next phase of her life with dignity, emotional support, and financial readiness. All of them are happily settled and progressing well in life.

Through dedicated care and structured development programmes, Mukta Balikashram continues to provide every girl not just a home—but a strong foundation for a brighter, independent future.

Dilasa - Residential Centre for Aaji

The residential facility has supported more than 250 senior citizens, offering stays ranging from one week to over ten years, depending on their needs and circumstances.

The centre ensures:

  • Nutritious meals
  • Regular medical check-ups
  • Counselling and emotional support
  • Physiotherapy and health monitoring
  • Recreational and cultural activities
  • A safe, peaceful living space with round-the-clock care

With a strong belief that aging should not lead to loneliness, Dilasa builds a community where elders feel valued, connected, and joyful.

Virangula - Day Care Centre

The Day Care Centre is an equally important part of Dilasa Virangula, designed to keep elderly both men and women active, involved, and socially engaged while they continue living with their families. It also reduces loneliness and isolation by creating a friendly community space. Over 220 senior citizens are registered at the centre and participate regularly in a variety of programmes.

Programs Conducted at the Day Care Centre

  • Yoga and light exercise sessions to improve mobility, flexibility, and overall health.
  • Bhajans, kirtans, and spiritual gatherings that bring peace and positivity.
  • Cognitive and recreational activities such as puzzles, memory games, reading circles, group discussions, and singing sessions.
  • Arts, crafts, and skill activities including knitting, embroidery, drawing, and creative workshops.
  • Health awareness sessions and medical camps conducted by doctors and health professionals.
  • Festival celebrations, birthdays, and special events that create joy and a sense of belonging.
  • Movie screenings, storytelling, and group entertainment to keep them mentally and socially active.
  • Counselling and emotional support sessions to help seniors manage stress, loneliness, or anxiety.

🏡 Granny’s House (Dombivli)

A Day Care and Old Age Home providing companionship, care, and daily support to elderly women. Operational since 2010, it has supported over 150 grannies with love and dignity.

🎉 विरंगुळा केंद्र

An activity-based club where elders aged 55–75 engage in fun, interaction, and mental wellness. With 120+ active members, it promotes joy and reduces loneliness through community bonding.

Antyoday - Community Development Programmes at Mokhada, Shahapur and Ganeshpuri (Tribal Areas of Thane and Palghar District)

For the past 12 years, the organisation has been actively working in the field of tribal empowerment, focusing on education, women’s development, livelihood generation, and strengthening community leadership across Mokhada, Shahapur and Ganeshpuri

Our approach is rooted in rights-based development, ensuring that communities become self-reliant, educated, and organized to claim their rights and improve their livelihoods.

Antyoday – Community Development Programmes

Our initiatives focus on empowering tribal communities through education, women empowerment, livelihood generation, and strengthening grassroots governance—creating sustainable and long-lasting social change.

Education and Child Development

  • More than 1,300 children are engaged through Khelwadis, receiving academic support, personality development, and creative learning opportunities.
  • Improves self-esteem, confidence, reading skills, comprehension, and overall learning levels.
  • Encourages participation in sports, cultural activities, and awareness sessions for holistic growth.

Women Empowerment and Self-Help Groups (SHGs)

  • Formation of 168 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) of tribal women.
  • Focus on financial literacy, savings, credit linkages, and entrepreneurship.

Strengthening Local Governance & Community Participation

  • Training community members, especially women, for active participation in village development.
  • Encourages Gram Sabha participation and local decision-making.

  • A professional garment unit built “by the tribal people, for the tribal people”.

  • Awareness programmes on Forest Rights Act, land rights, and government schemes.
  • Education on women’s rights and child protection laws.

Safe, Secure & Affordable Housing for Working Women

Sakhi Niwas – Working Women’s Hostel (A Joint Initiative of BMC and Parivartan Mahila Sanstha)

Sakhi Niwas is a newly launched project started in 2024, designed to provide a safe, affordable, and supportive residential facility for working women in Mumbai. The hostel was inaugurated by Mr. Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, marking a significant step toward empowering women who migrate to the city for employment.

This is a joint venture between the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Parivartan Mahila Sanstha, established to address the rising need for secure accommodation for women who come from different parts of Maharashtra and India for work.
